Toasted has worked on some of the biggest construction projects in the UK including the Atlantic Gateway and Pendleton Together.
Seddon is the UK’s largest privately owned, family-managed building contractor business. Salford Council recommended us to Seddon and got in touch asking to create a short documentary-style video promoting one of their projects in Salford.
The birthing unit at Hope Hospital, Salford was closing, a successful crowdfunding campaign raised £130,000 from local businesses/members of the public. It was now possible to renovate a historic Victorian building – Seddon were awarded the works, transforming it into the modern Ingleside Birthing Center.
This was a chance for them to showcase the construction and to emphasise their services. A creative opportunity was born!
Toasted captured the progression of the building works on a monthly basis to ensure that each milestone development was documented, after 4 months, we were able to start to piece the short documentary together.
Using this as a backdrop, we created a 5-minute fast-paced edit focusing on community involvement. We told the stories of Building Apprentices from local schools and one construction worker being able to use the facilities for their own family.
It also featured the creation of a new bat house as Seddon played their part in animal conservation.
To accompany the construction journey, we produced interviews with key stakeholders from Salford City Council and NHS Salford whilst speaking to local families about their involvement with the project.
The succession of this video has lead onto a great partnership with Seddon. We’ve been able to offer more services such as timelapse, 360 panoramas and a whole lot more!
